John 8:36 – You Are Free Indeed

You Are Free Indeed - John 8:36

John 8:36

Freedom is what every person deeply yearns for. We want to be as free as the air we breathe.

As people battle with depression, addictions and problems, they long for the freedom to live without all the things that hold them down. In the search of humanity for freedom, we have devised different means to set people at liberty from their problems. However, these methods have proved abortive as the devil keeps people bound from generation to generation.

The devil fights to keep people in bondage through sinful habits. In all sincerity, most people wish to be free from these toxic and destructive habits. However, freedom is not obtained by mere wishful thinking. Whoever sins is already a slave to sin and can only be made free by the power of God (John 8:34-36).

Another way the devil keeps men bound is through our minds and thinking system. As long as a slave is ignorant of his bondage, he will continually stay bound. This is what the devil seeks to do to every human being. He tries to paint true freedom as bondage and vice versa.

The devil utilized this strategy against Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Adam and Eve were walking in freedom until the devil came enticingly to make them see the freedom they were in as bondage and desire bondage thinking it was freedom. We must realize that some things seem right to us but they are just bondage and destruction in disguise (Proverbs 14:12).

Many things represent freedom to people today; however, they are encoded, modern variants of bondage. What the devil offers people is counterfeit freedom and destruction in disguise. The Bible shows us how to be free and free indeed in John 8:36.

The Son Sets You Free

If you want true freedom, the Bible shows us that there is only one place to find it. Only Jesus Christ the Son of God can set us at liberty to live a glorious and enjoyable life. He is the one the Bible refers to as the Son in John 8:36.

Without him, people will be bound to sickness, sin, addictions and all forms of evil. God sent Jesus Christ his son to the world primarily to deliver people from the grip and bondage of the enemy. The first step to freedom is to become born again by accepting the Lordship of Jesus in your life.

Jesus eliminates all forms of bondage in a life that welcomes him. For Jesus to make you free indeed, you must welcome him into your life and allow him to work on you. As you walk with God and give him space to work on you, your freedom will be manifested even more evidently.

Jesus sets men free and transforms them completely by his power. For him to make you free indeed, you must be willing to walk with him step-by-step till your freedom becomes glaringly evident to all men. He needs time to work in your life and you must not rush the process of your transformation.

God is willing to make you free indeed, the question is, are you ready to be free indeed?
