Isaiah 40:8
People say that change is constant. This is true, but the word of God is even more constant than change itself. God’s word can bring about dramatic changes, shifts and transformations.
The word of God is the solid pillar that upholds the entire universe and the whole of creation. The Bible records that God has honoured his word above all his names (Psalm 138:2). God’s word has all the characteristics of God himself. It is living, active and abides forever. God’s word can never die or be unfulfilled.
It may take some time for it to be manifested physically, notwithstanding, God’s word will always come to pass. God’s word endures forever. This is believable because of the character and nature of God; unchanging, reliable and trustworthy. God is not a man that he should lie (Numbers 23:19).
A revelation of how powerful and sovereign God is will help you understand why his words endure forever. It is impossible for God’s word to fail. God bestows the same authority in his person and position as King of the universe in all his words. So, we can be sure that God will always bring his words to fulfilment.
Building Your Life On God’s Word
God’s word is so powerful and everlasting; this means that God’s word is the only reliable and trustworthy foundation we can build our lives on.
Everything we see today are just momentary realities, they are all passing away (Matthew 24:35). It will be wrong to build our lives on these momentary realities while ignoring God’s word.
What stands as the “pillar” that many people depend upon is their money, fame, influence and connections. They are quick to forget that all these things will pass away and only God’s word will remain. Therefore, it is wise to build the foundation of your life on God’ word and put all your trust in God’s word.
Any other thing or person you build on apart from God’s word will fail you. A life that is built on God’s word is like a house built on solid rock, it can never fall (Matthew 7:24-25). God’s word is that solid rock that keeps us standing no matter life’s situations.
Building on God’s word means that you give God’s word utmost priority and authority over your life. God’s word must have pre-eminence and the final say over your life. You must be given to the study and application of God’s word in your daily life.
Never take any step except you receive God’s word to go ahead. Building your life on God’s word will lead you beyond errors, darkness and confusion.
Never forget, God’s word is the only sure foundation you can build your life on. It endures forever and will never lose its power even with the passage of time.
Don’t be tempted to build your life on your intellect, wisdom or strategy because they will all pass away no matter what. Instead, build your life on the solid rock of God’s word. You can do this by reading God’s word, studying it, memorising it and praying with God’s word till you see its manifestation physically.
